Chinese Men and Guide Caught Attempting Thai Border Crossing

Banteay Meanchey: Four Chinese nationals attempting to cross the border into Thailand were arrested by Banteay Meanchey Operational Area Forces at 8.30pm on Tuesday, along with their guide, in the border area of Koh Snoul village, Toul Pong commune, Malai district.

Commander of the Banteay Meanchey Military Operations Area, Brigadier General Chim Bun An, has issued strict orders to all forces to patrol 24 hours a day, taking turns to cooperate with the Joint Forces to prevent illegal migrant workers and prevent the spread of Covid-19.

On Tuesday evening, the leader of the patrol force, Lieutenant Colonel Huot Bunthoeun, came across four Chinese nationals, along with a local man. They were arrested by the Banteay Meanchey Military Operation Area Forces. The Chinese nationals and their guide were handed over to the Royal Cambodian Gendarmerie for questioning.

The provincial military operational forces have detained migrant workers and sent them to the quarantine Center. They have also arrested some brokers and sent them to the competent authorities to take legal action.
